Shai Fultheim – Founder, President and CEO

As founder and CEO of ScaleMP, Shai designed and architected the core technology behind ScaleMP, and is responsible for the company’s strategy and direction. Shai has more than 20 years of experience in technology and business roles in IT and venture-backed firms. Before founding ScaleMP, Shai was CTO of BRM Capital, a first-tier Israeli venture-capital fund. Shai defined the fund’s technology roadmap, which formed the foundation of BRM’s investment strategy.

Prior to BRM, Shai was co-founder, CTO and VP R&D at several technology startups. He also served in the Israeli Defense Force’s prestigious central intelligence unit, where he led a large IT organization of hundreds of engineers and programmers. Shai managed a broad range of complex IT projects in the areas of security, systems and network infrastructure, and knowledge management, gaining significant experience in the domain of scalable computing and large-scale IT infrastructure.

Shai has been an active member of several open source initiatives such as Apache, Jakarta Tomcat, Amanda and the Linux kernel.

Shai holds a B.Tech and BASc from the Jerusalem College of Technology.

Benzi Galili – COO, EVP Channel Sales

Benzi joined ScaleMP in 2005, and is responsible for ScaleMP’s operations and sales worldwide. Previously VP of Services for ScaleMP, Benzi brings more than 15 years of experience in managing technology development and services, product and account management, and product architecture and design geared toward addressing the business needs of enterprises and end users.

Prior to joining ScaleMP, Benzi served as VP of Products at Participate Systems (Acquired by OutStart, Inc.), VP R&D and VP Products and Services at Kamoon, Inc., and also as CIO for the ERGO Consulting Group.

Throughout his career, he has built a successful track record, managing diverse engineering and product management teams, and delivering key products and services to Global 2000 companies, governments, and leading academic and research institutes.

Benzi holds a B.Sc. in Industrial Engineering from Tel Aviv University (major in Information Systems), where he graduated with honors.

Dave Jursik – EVP Corporate Development (IBM)

Dave joined ScaleMP in 2013 as EVP of Corporate Development (IBM). Mr. Jursik has over 30 years of leadership experience in the IT industry.

Dave was formerly the Worldwide VP for IBM’s Deep Computing business. In that role, Dave provided leadership for IBM sales and marketing teams in the High Performance Computing business . This business was focused on developing and delivering integrated server, storage, software and services solutions to address client needs in technical computing and analytics in a broad range of industries.

Prior to this at IBM, Dave was the Vice President responsible for e-business solutions sales in the Western third of the United States. These solutions included the full suite of products and services required to implement Enterprise Resource Planning, Customer Relationship Management, Supply Chain and e-Procurement applications.

Pat Carey – VP Sales, Major Accounts

Patrick Carey joined ScaleMP in 2013. Pat is responsible for ScaleMP’s major account sales worldwide. Pat leads a team that will work directly with large customers.

Pat came to ScaleMP from Siemens, where he was the VP of Sales and Marketing for the Smart Grid Division. Previously Pat led global sales for IBM’s Blue Gene supercomputer for nearly 5 years, and through 3 successful generations of the product. He has also been vice president of business development and vice president of global sales for two Silicon Valley based software companies.

Pat brings more than 25 years of experience in the information technology industry and has experienced success selling to a wide range of industries, including Education, Research, Media, Consumer Goods, Government and Energy.

Pat holds a B.A from North Dakota State University.

Andrew Fine – VP Finance

Andrew is responsible for all finance and accounting functions for ScaleMP, leveraging more than a decade of experience in all aspects of corporate growth and company building in rapid-growth environments.

Before joining ScaleMP, Andrew held positions as CFO of Idioma, a leading provider of media-information technology solutions, and director of finance and business development for Israel’s HiTEC Technology Entrepreneurship Center. At HiTEC, Andrew was instrumental in establishing and implementing financial and business strategies for numerous high-tech startups, and managed a private investors group providing pre-seed angel funding to technology companies. Prior to HiTEC, Andrew was a senior principal and founding member at Euro Strategies, a management consultancy affiliate of Price Waterhouse.

Andrew has also served as an assistant political advisor on foreign affairs to the mayor of Jerusalem and earned both his B.A and M.B.A. from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.

Nir Paikowsky – VP North America Channel Development and Technical Sales

Nir is responsible for ScaleMP’s North American channel sales, working with server OEM teams and national resellers, and leveraging his prior experience as ScaleMP’s VP of Services. Nir brings more than 15 years of experience in global technology companies, leading and managing product architecture and development, professional services, and product strategy.

Before joining ScaleMP, Nir held several positions at enterprise business software provider SAP, including director of product strategy for eBusiness and director of system architecture. Prior to that, Nir led the technical pre-sale and post-sale services at Kamoon, Inc., and also served in the Israeli Defense force software technology unit as development lead and CTO for PLM and DOD self-service purchasing projects.

Nir holds a B.Sc. in Industrial Engineering and M.Sc. in Industrial Engineering and Management from Tel Aviv University (major in Information Systems and Data Mining).

Michael Schulman – Director of Marketing

Michael joined ScaleMP in 2011 and is responsible for all aspects of ScaleMP’s marketing efforts, including web site design, PR and AR interactions, event determination and execution, as well as collateral development.

Prior to joining ScaleMP, Michael was the Marketing Manager for the Altix UV product  line at Silicon Graphics International, where he created all the outbound marketing program for SGI’s flagship product. Michael spent almost a decade at Sun Microsystems where he initially was responsible for the marketing of all graphical software products and later as the marketing lead for the Sun Microsystems Sun Constellation System within Sun’s HPC organization.  In addition, he was at SGI for over 12 years in various technical and marketing roles within the Market Development organization.

Michael holds a BS from Cornell University in Civil/Structural engineering, and an MS from Cornell in Computer Graphics. He is a member of IEEE and ACM.

Erez Velan – Director of Technical Services and Support

Erez is responsible for delivering technical services, including application performance engineering, technical support, professional services and user productivity tools, for ScaleMP. Erez has more than 20 years of experience in global information and software technology companies, where he has built and managed tech support, managed services and professional services teams.

Prior to joining ScaleMP, Erez co-founded and managed inter.NETiX LTD (an IT security and integration consulting firm, and served as director of technical support and director of professional services at SafeNet, Inc. Erez is the co-inventor of a registered patent “A system and method for indirectly controlling network devices.”

Erez holds a B.Sc. in Computer Sciences from the Technion Institute of Technology in Haifa, and an M.B.A. from the Interdisciplinary Center (IDC) in Herzeliya.
